Sound problems in games

The first game is Mass Effect Andromeda. In this game several parts of the game there is an issue with the voice acting not being in sync with the characters mouth movements. This happens in many scenes but one is when the Salarian director is talking out his mouth movements are completely out of sync with the voice audio. The way the problem could be fixed is by timing the mouth animations to fit with the voice audio. This would make the game feel more realistic for the player as it looks like the character is speaking.

The Halo 4 soundtrack is the next game audio problem. The soundtrack is too quiet and barely noticeable and very hard to hear. This makes it a problem as it ruins the immersion and usually the halo soundtracks are really well produced. The way this could be fixed is to make it louder for the player to hear and mix it with the other audio aspects.

The next problem is in Burnout:Paradise. In this game there is an option to listen to music on the radio in the car you drive. But the problem is there is a short list of songs that play over and over again. This is a problem as it can make the player feel annoyed or bored. The way they could fix this problem is to add more songs and make the selection more random leaving a large window until that song can be played again.

Battle Field 1

Battlefield 1 is a World War 1 simulator/multiplayer game. It has many theme to it, the main one being the Valour as all the soldiers are bravely going into battle, filled with bullets and explosions. This would've taken great courage to do.

There is also many other themes to look at, such as Vengeance towards the enemy whether your American and British or German and Austrian. Another theme would be Fear towards dying or being injured, or even your friends dying in battle, along with the anger of the enemy killing your family and friends. Heroism and Hope are two main themes. This is because its brave and heroic to fight for your country as in game you can see the mass amount of soldiers fighting. And Hope shows that the allies have something to believe in to try and win the war, whether it be winning the battle keeping people alive. There is also competitiveness in the multiplayer mode as players want to unlock and buy the best equipment to be top of the leader board or gain a higher rank.

BattleField 1 also has a few genres. Genres such as it being a First Person Shooter when on the ground, as all you can see is your gun and your feet when you look down. This makes it more realistic as it makes you think your the actual soldier in the battle, linking back to the simulation theme. But, it is also a Third Person Shooter. This is seen when the player enters a vehicle such as a Tank, Plane, Car, etc and the camera angle switches to third person to get a clearer view of where everyone and everything is, benefiting the player. Another genre would be the Role playing. This is because you are role plating as a WW1 soldier in battle, experiencing what it was like for a soldier in the war.

There are many different game modes in Battlefield 1. Game modes such as Single player campaign, giving the player 5 missions set in the perspective of every faction involved in the war, and also experiencing real life events that happened in the war like the tank famous "Black Bess", "Lawrence of Arabia" a British soldier fighting in the ottoman revolt when the British thought the Turks, or as Frederick Bishop when the New Zealand and Australian Army corps during the British army's landing at Gallipoli. Also the Multiplayer mode, which is very competitive, provides large scale maps for huge battles of 32 V 32.

*Not Finished*

Hi.

My names Fletcher Cleaver and this is my first post.

I love to play video games, such as The Elder Scrolls series, Assassins creed and many more. This is why i chose Games Design for my college course. I created this blog to share my games design work with you. Soon I will be posting what projects i'm working on and the developments on these projects.

I want a career in games design because I am very passionate about it and love playing games, so to do a career in something I love would be great. In the two year course i hope to achieve a good enough grade to be able to go to university and progress in my games design studies. I have many great ideas to bring to the table in my games and others in the future. I also would like to obtain and develop new skills along the course as its very useful for the future.

The reason I love games is because its fun and stress free (sometimes depending on the game..) and also a hobbie. There are many different genres like films. This is what I like about them, There is always a game for someone, whether it be Action, Sports, Puzzle, etc..

I will be posting my next blog post soon. Hope you enjoy them.
